- Instead of fussing over wet sneakers, shove crumpled newspaper into them to soak up the moisture.
- Got water rings on your wooden table? Heat up with a hair dryer and then use olive oil to recondition the table.
- Use a lint roller to clean your dusty lampshades.
- To clean your ceiling fan blades: use an old pillow case, put the blade inside. Gently pull back the pillow case, wiping the dust INTO the case!
- Have some vodka in the liquor cabinet? Put some into a spray bottle and gently spritz your uncovered mattress to kill bacteria, eliminate odors and disinfect.
- Use a handful of coarse salt and a lemon to scrub and clean your cutting boards.
- Wipe your baseboards with dryer sheets to repel dust.
- Finally, a solution for spilled glitter! Grab a lump of playdough and press it on to the glitter to pick up. (The kids will probably have fun with this one too!)
- To get rid of burnt pan bottoms, simmer 1C vinegar, 1C water for a minute or two. Then, take it off the heat and add 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Wait for the fizzing, then empty and scrub.
